May 14 – Oslo to Flam

I saved a mantra learned when my kids were each 3 years old; “I’m not tired”! Say it several times throughout the day and you’ll believe it and internalize. That is what I did today. Di did too. There is something about day three that brings you to your knees in so many situations; after a baby is born, after someone dies, after traveling 1/2 way across the world.

So, with that intro I’ll say that we did have a great day traveling by train to Flam; a hub for large cruises and a starting point for excursions to many main fjords.

We also met a handful of mother/daughter and sister/sister duos.  All were very excited about visiting Norway/Family and showing their loved ones the beauty of the country.

Flam is part of the Norway in a Nutshell tour and tomorrow we will explore a couple of fjords and head towards Bergen.

We encountered all four seasons on our trek west from Oslo to Bergen. Take a look at the pictures from today.

Observations from me and from Di – Norway is so similar to Washington State we almost forget to take in the mountains, waterfalls and landscapes. Don’t worry though; we have fallen in love with our ancestral country and it continues to feel like home.

Check out the pictures from today and the two videos I shot.
